Call for Abstracts
The call for abstracts is now open, and abstracts can be submitted until 15 May. More information on the procedure for the abstract submission can be found under "How to submit".
Milestones
- 15 May 2026: Deadline for abstract submission
- 25 May 2026: Abstracts accepted - Letter to authors
- 01 Jun 2026: Registration opens
- 04 Jun 2026: Abstracts selected for oral and posters by the conveners
- 08 Jun 2026: Programme online - authors receive letter of schedule
The registration fee will be set definitively on 19 May and will be no more than €700, including accommodation and meals at the Paul Langevin Centre from 31 August to 4 September (4 nights). Early-career researchers (ECS) may apply for a grant.
Aims and Scope
The "Fibre Optic Sensing in Geosciences" Galileo Conference aims to bring together all communities developing and benefiting from fibre optic sensing technologies in the field of geosciences. The event will showcase the latest progress and advances in technological development. It will also highlight state-of-the-art processing and analysis approaches, as well as the latest initiatives and strategies for data sharing, open-source software, and collaboration platforms. All of this is to improve our understanding of the Earth system and highlight how these novel sensing technologies can have a real impact in enhancing the safety and resilience of our modern societies.
